SMS is open Monday to Friday, with a half-day Friday and a Saturday and Sunday weekend, as is standard practice for schools in the United Arab Emirates.

Timetables is flexible in KG & Elementary to allow for cross curricular approaches to learning as the model of one main class teacher for all subjects, delivered in the medium of the English language, is consistently applied from KG1 to G5. During distance learning the students learned collaboratively through zoom breakout groups - this was expanded during the STrEaM week to allow cross class collaboration virtually.
